Son of Stephen W. Williams of Sangamon County, Illinois and Abigail Jane Fry of Tennessee.

Second husband of Marinda Mary Edwards-Holland of Mason Township, Effingham County, Illinois; married on 08 November 1877 in Effingham County, Illinois.

"The death of E.H. Williams occured at the home of F.A. Amsberry in Mason City, Friday, April 8, 1904, at 7:47 pm; the ailment being chronic inflammation of the stomach. He had been a sufferer for about six months and had been treated by both physicians of Mason City and a specialist at York, the best of medical skill having been employed in his behalf, but without avail.
Edward Henry Williams was born in Sangamon County, Illinois, December 13, 1852, being 51 years, 3 months, 27 days old. He was married December 8, 1878 to Mrs. Mary M. Holland who died November 9, 1902. To them were born three children, Mrs. F.A. Amsberry and Otis and Glenn Williams, all now of Mason City, Nebraska. Mrs. W.C. Foster of York, Mrs. Andy Barrett of Lushton and Mrs. Warren Medlar of Mason City are step-children of the deceased; Mrs. Barrett only being unable to attend the funeral.
Deceased moved with his family to York County sixteen years ago and removed to Custer County in March, 1897, locating on a farm three miles northeast of Mason City where he resided until his death. He was a strong believer in the doctrine of the Primitive Baptist church and his daily walk proved his faith in a crucified and risen Savior. He was a member of the Masonic Order, having joined 21 years ago.
The funeral was conducted from the M.E. church in this city at 2 o'clock pm, Sunday, under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge, the sermon being preached by Elder Isaiah Waggoner of Kearney. The remains were then followed by an immense throng to its final resting place by the side of his wife on the Amsberry homestead three miles west of the city."
