For many years, Dennis was employed by the Hinckley Big-Rock School District as Custodian at Hinckley Elementary School. He took pride in keeping the school looking its best, which developed into owning and operating his cleaning and floor finishing company, Ultra Kleen, for several years as well. He never lost his love of farming and animals, which later drew him to positions working on large hog farms in Northern Illinois and Wisconsin.
Dennis enjoyed the thrill of stock car races and learned to oil paint later in life, preferring to represent landscapes.
Dennis is survived by his daughters Christine Baie of Hinckley and Vanessa Baie of Oak Lawn, and his son Darren Baie of Oak Lawn, his mother Katherine Baie, his sisters Joanne (Sonny/Harold) Alfredson, Rhonda (Steve) Woodrick, and his brother David (Janis) Baie, and several nieces and nephews.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Baie, his paternal grandparents Glenn Baie & Gertrude Jacobson Eckhardt, his maternal grandparents Hattie (Bahl) Hartman and Edmund Bahl, his aunt Ceil Bahl, and his aunt and uncle, Delores (Baie) and Lorean Crow.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple St., Hinckley, IL.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 12760 Lee Rd., Hinckley, IL with Rev. Christopher Navurskis officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
