Laura Peller (or Peeler-maiden name from family notes) was born in New York, according to Censuses. She married Ezra Griffin (Jr.) on 18 September 1825 in Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., OH. To this union, six children were born: Cordelia (1825-?), James B. (1828-1895), Albert E. (1831-1923), Julietta Lorrianna (1833-1923), Elliot (1835-1923), and Orlando (1843-?). Ezra's occupation was a farmer. Both Marriage certificate and her daughter Julietta's death certificate give Laura's maiden name as Griffin.
Ezra and Laura resided in Morgan, Ashtabula Co., OH in 1850; Trumbull, Ashtabula Co., OH in 1860; Ezra died in 1866 and is buried in the Brown Cemetery near Pawnee, in Hamilton Township, Harrison Co., MO.
Ezra and Laura helped their children raise their families, particularly Albert's. Albert was widowed 3 times with young children each time. When Albert's family moved west to Fremont County, Iowa, Ezra & Laura moved with them. Their daughter Julietta married Albert S. Luke in Dorset, Ashtabula County, Ohio, and that family migrated to Fremont Co., IA, then to Harrison Co., Missouri. Julietta had a "physician's license to practice" and made mainly house calls on horseback in northern Harrison County, Missouri. Albert and Elliot, mechanics, last resided in Bridgeton, Newaygo, Michigan. Laura died 27 years after Ezra, and is buried beside him in the Brown Cemetery.
Also buried to the back or east in this plot is Ezra & Laura's granddaughter Sarah S. Luke. And to the north or left, is their great-grandson Lonnie E. Thrailkill. Son-in-law Albert S.Luke is buried directly to the south of the Griffin plot.
