Ezra Griffin, Jr. was born in Barkhamsted, Litchfield, Connecticut, one of 11 children, and the only son, born to Ezra Griffin and his wife Margery (unproven of the Narragansett Indian tribe of Connecticut/Rhode Island). Ezra's main occupation was that of a farmer.
Ezra's sisters: Abigail (m. Niles Parker), Elizabeth, Saville (1790-1792), Savilla, Lamenta or Lominty, Cecelia, Lindy, Luty, Margery, Elvira Eloire (m. Solomon Burdick), and Almira (m. Lewis S. Hoyt).
On 18 September 1825 in the Township of Harpersfield, Ashtabula Co., OH, "Ezra Griffen, Jr." was married to "Laury Griffen" by J. B. Bartholomew, Esqr, Justice of the Peace, recorded 9 Nov 1825 by T.R. Hawley, Clerk, C.P. [Family notes have his wife's maiden name as Laura Peller. Both the marriage certificate and her daughter Juliette's death certificate list Laura's maiden name as "Griffin". Laura was born abt 1803, New York. More research is needed.]
Laura and Ezra, Jr. were the parents of Cordelia Griffin, James B. Griffin, Albert E. Griffin, Juliette Loraine Griffin-Luke-Harmon, Elliot P. Griffin, and Orlando A. Griffin.
Note: One source lists a son: William Griffin, b. ca 1834-6. However, he is a nephew--"William M. Burdick Griffin", the son of Elvira Eloire (Griffin) & Solomon Burdick. He lived in Ohio and after his father died, moved to Eagleville, MO then to Lucas Co. IA.
