Mr. Bobby L. Alford, age 68, of 801 Sanders Lane, Springfield, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area for 30 years, coming here from Montgomery, Ala. Mr. Alford served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years active duty during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his wife, Alma L. Alford of Springfield; a daughter, Barbara Alford Sigmon of Granite Falls, N.C.; a son, Michael Robert Alford of Fountain, Fla.; five grandchildren, John David Alford, Brian Cook, Jason Cook, Christina Schroff and Kayla Schroff; a sister, Winifred Short of Kississimee, Fla.; and three brothers, James Alford of Tallahassee, Fla., Gerald Alford of Lake City, Fla., and Donald Alford of Live Oak, Fla.
Mr. Alford was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dianne Alford Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 20, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base....
