Serafino A. Batignani, 76, of 17 James Street, East Hartford, beloved husband of fifty-seven years to Anna Marie (Cavallo) Batignani, died Thursday (January 4, 1996) at Hartford Hospital. He was predeceased by a brother, Fred Batignani.
Born June 13, 1919 in Hartford, he was a highly decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for thirty-eight years, before retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Club, and the Italian American Veteran's of War Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Lawrence Batignani of East Windsor, Anthony Batignani of Palm City, FL, Michael Batignani of East Hartford, and Frederick Batignani of Port St. Lucy, FL; two daughters, Rochetta Gliha of Tampa, FL, and Armida Lemke of Hebron; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Fiano Chieffo of Bolton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 1996 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 15 Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford.
The family invites family and friends to join them immediately after the Mass at St. Mary's Parish Center, across from the church.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
