Robert W. "Bob" Bell, 73, of East Hartford, devoted husband of Carol (Witham), died peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Wednesday (March 17, 2010) from complications of aggressive thyroid cancer.
Born in Manchester, he has been a resident of East Hartford for forty-five years.
Bob was a graduate of the University of Hartford, Class of 1965. Bob was proud of his loving family, proud of his work, enjoyed life and touched many.
Since 1993 and up until his death, he was the controller for Fast Fabricators in Bloomfield. Prior to that he had worked thirty-seven years at Pratt and Whitney Machine Tool in West Hartford.
In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-one years, Carol, he is survived by his children, Robert and his wife Leah (Kotler) of Manchester, David of Ellington, his "favorite" daughter Karen Stevens and her husband Bill of Willington; his grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Krystyna, Samantha, Asher, Ellarie; and his great-granddaughter, Julia. He was predeceased by his mother Irene Bell, brothers Ronald and Richard, and a sister Eileen.
Family and friends are asked to meet directly in The Lutheran Church of St. Mark, 75 Griswold Street, Glastonbury, for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Monday, March 22, 2010.
Burial will follow in Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury.
