TAYLOR — A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfred John "Fonzie" or "Freddie" Cervenka Jr., 53, of Granger will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with Msgr. Lonnie Urban and the Rev. Joseph Nisari officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Granger.
Mr. Cervenka died Thursday, Sept. 24, in a Temple hospital.
He was born on Nov. 20, 1955, to Martha Hajda and the late Alfred Cervenka Sr. He grew up in Granger and attended SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic School, Granger High School and Temple Junior College with a degree in mechanics. On Oct. 19, 1991, he married Sharon Michalik at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where he was a member. He worked as a diesel mechanic. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, KJT and Granger Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years; a daughter, McKenzie Marie Cervenka; a brother, James Cervenka; a sister, Joyce Merrill; and his mother.
Memorials may be made to SSCM "ROAR" Campaign.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Condra Funeral Home of Taylor.
