Ted Alvarez, a resident of Ozark, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Dale Medical Center in Ozark. He was 56 years old.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Fortune officiating and Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Alvarez was the son of Raymond Alvarez and Eloise Pyles, who was born on March 29, 1948 in Trenton, Florida and lived the early years of his life in Ft. Meyers, Florida. He was a veteran of the US Army having served four tours in Vietnam. He was employed as a police officer and a fireman in Ft. Meyers. In 1981, he moved to Montana and was employed with North American Trucking and United Trucking Company before moving to Dothan in 2003. He was currently employed with Army Fleet Support at Fort Rucker at the Molinelli Range. Mr. Alvarez will be remembered as a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Chere Alvarez, Great Falls, Montana; three sons, Clayton Alvarez, Ozark, Calvin Alvarez, North Carolina, Troy Alvarez, Florida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Erin Thorne and her husband, Richard, Dothan, Shannon Hill and her husband, Cornelius, California; six grandchildren, Joshua Klepel, Nate Hill, Nevin Hill, Kendel Hill, Skylarh Throne and Caleb Thorne; two brothers, Ray Alvarez and his wife, Sheila, a brother, Danny Alvarez and a sister, Jane Alvarez; three nieces, Tina, Jody Ann, and Angie; four nephews, Wayland, Lance, Darren and Darrel.
