Age 86, son of the late Israel and Tova [Tillie] Tanenbaum.
He worked as a salesman. He graduated from Academy High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He served as chairman for several Israel bond drives and was a member of Anshe Hesed Temple. He was also a member of the Brith Sholom Brotherhood and enjoyed tennis, golf and bowling.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Max Tanenbaum and Joe Tanner; and two sisters, Goldie Goldberg and Rose Yanover (d 1/31/2001 age 84 in Erie).
Survivors include his wife, Rose Bandalene Tanner, whom he married Aug. 31, 1941; a son, David Tanner of Fairfield, Iowa; two daughters, Marci Tanner Freeman of Fairfield and Karen Tanner of Berkley, Calif.; three brothers, Meyer Tannenbaum of New York City and Louis Tanner and Sam Tanenbaum of Erie; twin sisters Mary Kempner of Tucson, Ariz., and Sara Wolf of Skokie, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be at Anshe Hesed Cemetery.
