The funeral for Mabel C. Adams, 81, of Athens, will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with David Cox and Warren Glass officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born December 21, 1928, in Limestone County, to Walter Vaughan and Inis Matthews.
Mrs. Adams was a lifelong resident of Limestone County. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ora Leon Adams; parents, Walter and Inis Vaughan; one sister, Ila Mae Burns; and two brothers, Arnold Griffin and Homer Griffin.
Survivors include one son, John Adams and wife Ginger of Maryville, Tenn.; two daughters, Susan Burns and husband Tommy, and Anita Wheeler and husband Michael, all of Athens; and one sister, Frances Bowers of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Carr, Charles Hall, Tim Craig, Harold Holt, Tommy Claxton and Wayne Vaughn.
