Ethel Mae Allen, also known as, '' Jazzie Moonie '', was born April 1, 1955 in Shuqualak, Mississippi to the union of Mary Nell Allen and Johnnie C. Allen. Her father preceded her in death.
She confessed a hope in Christ at Galilee Central MB Church in East St. Louis, Illinois under the leadership of Rev. Albert Crockett. She later fellowshipped with Emmanuel Temple Church of God In Christ with the Elder John A. Riley, pastor.
She was educated in East St. Louis School District 189. During the 1970's, Moonie was a member of the the social organization called, The Black Saints (T.B.S.). The name '' Jazzie Moonie '' was given to her at birth which described her personality. She was also a member of the Disco Rider M/C where she found love and friendship until her date of calling.
God called her home on Friday, December 14, 2001 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Hospital in East St. Louis, Illinois.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory: her children, Keith (Xiomara) Allen, Amika Allen and Keihige Allen, Sr.; her mother, Mary Nell Allen; three sisters, Betty Fay Allen, Tammie Jenkins and Sarah Fuller; six brothers, Melvin (Deborah) Allen, Paul Allen, Johnnie Williams, Lewis Allen, Terry Allen and Michael Jenkins; five grandchildren, Kaneshia Allen, Chrishae Whitehead, Keihige Allen, Jr., Khyrie Allen and Vinecia Cookwood; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Howard Reeves, Algin Jarrett, Johnnie Wilson, Vivian (Tuffy) Gaines White, Shermonda Clark, Kathy Burris and Estella Hearns; other relatives and friends.
