Nancy Oma Ball Kennedy (nee Blankenship)Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, for Nancy Oma Ball Kennedy, 81, of Bradshaw, who died late Monday evening, Nov. 27, in Clinch Valley Medical Center, Richlands, VA, of a brief illness. The Revs. Roger "Pete" Woods, Charley Kennedy and Ancil Childress and Doug Blankenship will officiate at the Jesus Church, Bartley. Burial will follow in the Ball family cemetery at Oosley, near Bradshaw.

Born June 7, 1919 in Garden Creek, VA, she was the daughter of the late John and Sally Bailey Blankenship. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jesus Church, Bartley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira Robert Ball in 1994; four sons, Charley Robert Ball, Howard Ellis Ball, Chester Ball and John Henry Ball; one daughter, Delphia Sharon Ball; three sisters, Letha Alice Coleman, Bertha Helton, and Mary Magdaline Rowe; and two brothers, Coy and Clyde Blankenship. Survivors include her husband, (Living Kennedy), of the home; five daughters, (Living) Stacy and husband, (Living), (Living) Woods and Husband, Living, (Living) Blankenship and husband,(Living), (Living) Kennedy and husband, (Living), and (Living) Woods and husband, (Living), all of Bradshaw; two sons, (Living)Ball and wife, (Living), of Bradshaw, and (Living) Ball and wife, (Living) of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, (Living) Vance of Nashville, TN; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 5 pm Thursday, at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends of the family.
