A memorial service for Mrs. Marie S. Brett, 88, of Dublin, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brewton Baptist Church. Rev. Kelly Maddox will officiate. Mrs. Brett was a native of Laurens County. She was the daughter of the late W.T. Stinson and the late Bessie Lord Stinson. She was a member of Brewton Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was the widow of the late Porter D. Brett. She died March 22. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jack Joiner of Dublin; her grandchildren, Pamela and Mike Crewford of Albany, Deborah Clemons of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mike and Marlene Joiner of Albany, Sandy and Mike McWhirter of Bonaire; her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Stinson Ledbetter of Dublin, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a hospice organization of your choice. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
