George Palmer Putnam, Jr., age 92 of Boynton Beach passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his home.
George was preceded in death by his son, George.
He is survived by his wife, Marie W. Putnam; 5 children, Dorothy (Russell) Kortlever, Richard Allen (Diane) Putnam, Cynthia (Joe) Crankshaw, Susan (Thomas) Smith and Steven Kutzer; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
AM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. Joseph Episcopal Church & Columbarium, 3300 South Seacrest Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in George's memory.

He was the son of George Palmer Putnam, September 7, 1887 – January 4, 1950, and Dorothy (Binney) Palmer, 1888–1982.
His father was the widower of famed aviator, Amelia Earhart, July 24, 1897 – disappeared July 2, 1937.
His father's grandfather, George Palmer Putnam, February 7, 1814 – December 20, 1872, was the co-founder of New York the publishing company, Wiley & Putnam, which became G.P. Putnam's Sons after his death.
His mother's father, Edwin Binney, 1866–1934, is best known for his invention (along with his cousin C. Harold Smith) of the Crayola crayon. Binney Drive on Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce is named for him.
