Nancy was the daughter of John Weyer 1804-1850 and Nancy Fulk 1807-1881.
She married Jeremiah Bentley Ballard, the son of Bentley Ballard and Dinah Cox of Kentucky. They were married 20 Jan 1846 in Scotland County, Missouri and had seven children: * William Roscoe Ballard 1848-1877 * Mary Adeline Ballard, Mrs Henry Hall 1849-1918 * Oscar Greenberry Ballard 1852-1884 * Orlander Hudson Ballard 1859-1891 * Elizabeth Jane Ballard, Mrs Charles Adams and Isaac Evans 1855-1915 * Stonewall Jackson Ballard 1863-1889 * Damon Willard Ballard 1864-1904 The first four were born in Missouri and came west with their parents in 1853, the last three were born in Tuolumne County, California.
Jeremiah and Nancy were part of the Ballard family called the Walker River Emigrants who in 1853 traveled from the Carson River at Carson City, Nevada, through Wellington, Little Antelope Valley, across Walker River, through Leavitt Meadows, up the canyons to the summit of the Sierra Nevadas, crossed Brown Bear Pass, Relief Valley, Burst Rock, Dodge Ridge and down to Pinecrest, through Twain Harte and finally settled in Tuolumne County.
The party consisted of Jeremiah, his wife, Nancy, children William, Mary Adaline, Orlander and Oscar. Emeline Anne Ballard, Greenberry Henderson Ballard, Simeon Miller Ballard and Simeon Ballard were also in the party.
