Mr. John T. James, 85 years and 4 days, died at his residence near Long Lick. In his early life he lived near Stamping Ground and learned the trade of blacksmith. He united with the Stamping Ground Baptist Church, but for 42 years had held membership at Long Lick church. His first wife was the daughter of Daniel Johnson who bore him seven children, and died. He married a second time in 1863. Eld. G.W. Hill conducted funeral services at the residence Friday, where his burial took place.
