Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Hamilton were charter members of the Minorsville Christian Church, then called Pleasant Hill and built on Hawkins Hill near Hawkins Lane. The land for the church was donated by Alexander Hamilton. At the time, Helen Hamilton Cook, his daughter, is said to have owned the only Bible in the community.
He was considered the "founding father" of Minorsville, having had either 10 or 11 children, each of whom he gave land to in the Minorsville area. Many of our local families are his descendants, including Cooks, Houses, Traylors, Ferrells, Stones, Penns, Bells, Gaines, Hambricks, Johnsons, Reynolds, Watsons, and Perry's.
