Iowa Hill Items—An old miner named Daniel Collins was found dead in his cabin at Humboldt Canon on the 7th. He was last seen about a week before. A miner named Brown passed the cabin once or twice and, seeing no one around, entered and found him covered up in bed, stiff and cold. One side was bruised very much, and the marks of a heavy cave in were found in the claim. He was probably injured by it but was able to go home, take off his clothes, spread them out to dry, and go to bed. He had probably been dead two or three days when found. The kind-hearted Damascus men brought up the remains to Iowa Hill for interment. Deceased was nearly 60 years of age, unmarried, and in indigent circumstances.
