At half-past five last evening, Santiago Ordines, a Chilean miner, attempted to climb upon a hoisting cage while in motion in the Randol shaft of the Almaden quicksilver mine, and fell from the 1600 to the 1800 foot level, being instantly killed. The Coroner's jury today found a verdict of accidental death, attributable to his disobeying orders.
