Our darling little Willie boys,
That filled our house with so much joy,
We loved them oh we can not tell,
How much we loved or how well.
(Double stone--see William C. Pelham)
Daughter of Martha Dimond Pelham Schultz (1837-1903) and Augustus D. Shultz (1841-1917)
Civil War widow Martha Dimond Pelham married A.D. Shultz in 1865. He had served in the Civil War in Co. K, 17th Ill. Infantry, then in Co. G of 8th Illinois.
They moved to Kansas in about 1870, returning to Mason County by 1874.
In the 1880 Census he lived with Martha, but in the 1890s he moved out west and started a second family with Martha's niece, Emma Pelham Shultz (1858-1921).
Martha is buried at New Hope Cemetery across the road—no stone found. A.D. Shultz's burial place is unknown.
They had four kids: William H. Shultz (1877), Charles Shultz (1868-?), Elten Shultz (1874-1878), and Eva Shultz Waterworth (1880-1943).
