Mr. Fred D. Abrams III, (1SG, Retired) of 4054 Alton Street, passed Tuesday at the Medical Center. He was 61 years old.
The son of Eloise Knight Henderson of Houston, TX and Fred D. Abrams, Jr. of Mobile, AL, Mr. Abrams was born in Prichard, AL on April 14, 1947. A Veteran of the U. S. Army, Mr. Abrams served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was of Catholic faith. Survivors, other than his parents include: his wife, Elder Annie Abrams of Columbus; four sons, Reginald Abrams (Shelly) and Delmar Abrams of Columbus, Alexander Williams (Keyla) and Shaun Williams (Tammy) of Apalachicola, FL; a daughter, Robbie Abrams of Columbus; three step children, Edward Watson, Roberta Watson and E'Sean Watson; 23 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Lorraine Mitchell (George) of Maryland, Fredericka Marshall and Suzzette Marshall of Queens, NY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing services for Mr. Abrams will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. at the Remnant Church International with Pastor Sharon Billins officiating. Interment will follow in Main Post Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, 2 til 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends and the cortege will depart 2165 Shelby Street at 12:00 the day of the service. Arrangements entrusted to the staff of Progressive Funeral Home, Inc.
