Funeral services for Mrs. Fannie Dudgeon, 83 years of age, were held Saturday, October 11 at 10:30 a.m. from the Lone Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. B. E. Settles, Rev. Wesley Farmer, and Rev. Gene Puckett in charge. Burial was in the Buchanan Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Luther Carroll, Lester Carroll, David Pike, Ray Dudgeon, Jame Dudgeon, and William Dudgeon. The flower girls were: Mrs. Russell Curry, Miss Dortha Dudgeon, Mrs. James Dudgeon, Miss Delena Carroll, Miss Carolyn Dudgeon, and Mrs. Lavern Cox. Mrs. Dudgeon, daughter of the late Ellis and Jane Williams Wood, was born December 25, 1868 in Casey County, Ky. She died Thursday, October 9 at 4:15 p.m. at her home near Lone Valley in Taylor County. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Lone Valley Baptist Church. She united in marriage to J. R. Dudgeon in 1881, he preceded her in death on March 3, 1909. To this union six sons and six daughters were born. Those surviving are: Buck, Jessie, Bob, and George Dudgeon, all of Taylor County; Mrs. Jim Carroll of Lebanon; Mrs. Lester Pike of Columbia; and Mrs. Chesteer Foley of Jacksonville, Ill. Besides her children, she is survived by two brothers and one sister, Billie Wood of Taylor County; Johnnie Wood of Casey County and Mrs. Ocie Smith of Iowa. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
