George Blount, owner of Valley Fire Protection Extinguisher Co., died in San Ramon. He was 75.
The native of Tioga, La., lived in Dublin before moving to San Ramon 28 years ago.
Affiliations and hobbies: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, San Ramon 2nd Ward, Veterans of Foreign Wars San Ramon Valley Post 75; golf, sailing and hunting.
Military: Navy, World War II.
Survivors: Wife of 41 years, Linda; daughter, Carolyn Felix of Sparks, Nev.; sons, David Blount of San Jose, Rob Johnson-Blount of Sparkman, Ark., and Randy Blount of San Leandro; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. His son Steven Johnson-Blount died in 1997.
Services: 7-9 p.m. visitation Thursday at Oak Park Hills Chapel in Walnut Creek. 11 a.m. service Friday at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Crow Canyon Chapel in San Ramon.
