ALLEN, ALVINA (GEIGLE) WAGEMANN
Alvina Wageman Allen, 86, of Lodi, died Oct 4, in a local hospital after a long illness. She was born Alvina Geigle on Sept. 17, 1917, in Gackel, N.D.
Mrs. Allen came to Victor with her family as an infant. She attended local schools in the Lodi and Victor areas and had lived here most of her life. During her youth, she worked at various seasonal agricultural jobs in 1954, she went to work as a food service department worker for the Lodi Unified School District and attained the position of food service director. She retired in 1963.
She was an active volunteer at Hutchins Street Square and the Lodi Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening and planting tomatoes, baking and cooking.
She is survived by her son, James Wageman of Georgetown; daughter, Carol Eisenhower, of Fair Oaks; sisters, Rose Frame, of Lodi and Irene Smith, of Georgetown; brothers, John Geigle, of Morada and William Geigle, of Lodi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wageman in 1961 and Ernest Allen in 1989, and brothers, Henry and Alvin Geigle.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., Lodi, with the Rev. Richard Matters of St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lodi Memorial Cemetery, 5150 E. Pine St., Lodi.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Lodi Funeral Home.
