James Henry Pape, age 61, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington.
He was born April 25, 1950 in Yreka, California to Eugene and Maxine (Moses) Pape.
Jim grew up in Marblemount as a young child and later resided in Sedro-Woolley and Concrete where he graduated from Concrete High School in 1968.
He attended the University of Washington in Seattle for 2 years and then returned to the Skagit Valley. Jim worked for many years as a log truck driver and a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed fishing and playing the guitar.
Jim was a member of the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe.
He is survived by his aunt, Annabelle Moses Dallaire and her husband Phillip of Sedro-Woolley; a sister, Carol Pape and a nephew, Joe Tom; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Harry and Jessie Moses and Grandpa and Grandma Pape; 3 brothers, Darrell, Robert, and Harry Ronald Tom; 3 sisters, Delores, Andrea, and Helen Tom; and numerous uncles and aunts.
A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley with Pastors Merle Williams Sr. and Ron Iukes officiating with a Funeral Service to follow on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 10:00AM at the Upper Skagit Tribal Gymnasium with Annabelle Moses Dallaire and John Cayou Jr. officiating.
Cremation will follow the services with inurnment at the Harry Moses Indian Cemetery in Marblemount at a later date.
