Richard Lee Elliott 78 of Fulton passed away Monday, April 18, 2011. He was born to Omer and Anna Beatrice Elliott on August 1, 1932 in Fulton where his love fro tractors, cows, and working with his hands began.
Richard proudly served his country during the orean War in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge as Tech Sergeant in 1955, he returned to Fulton to be gin Elliott's Construction and Cabinet Company. He led this family buisness as it grew and changed until his retirement in 1999.
Rchard was proud to be a Callawegian. He was always quick to lend a hand and was involved in many local clubs and groups. He was also a very active mamber of the First Baptist Church of Fulton, where most wlll miss seeing him as an usher on Easter Sunday.
Richard's loss will be profoundly felt by his family and the many people whose lives he touched.
He s survived by his loving wife Margaret a.(Ellsworth) Elliott, one brother, Larry Elliott and wife Barbara; five children, Rick Elliott and wife Sandy, Debbie Scarbrough and husband John, Ron Elliott and wife Mona, Tammy Kolby and husband Jim, and Jennifer Bone and husband Jim. sixteen grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Friday April 22, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Rev. Doctor Gary Schultz and Rev. Murray Buschert officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest at Callaway Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. on Thursday April 21 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association. C/O Debo funeral home in Fulton Mo.
