|Birth: ||Dec. 9, 1886|
|Death: ||Jun. 14, 1916|
Anna Elin Tuomisalo (neé Metsälä) was born in Jumalniemi, Kymi, Kymenlaakso on 9th of December 1886 as the youngest daughter of Matti and Maria Metsälä (neé Takala). She had four siblings, two of which died young. Two of her elder sisters, Emilia and Eeva Lyydia Metsälä lived to see adulthood.
In her childhood, she moved to Haavisto, Ruotsinpyhtää where her parents had established a shop. The shop building was later moved to Hovinsaari, Kotka where it became tenement and Elin Metsälä acted as the landlady and took care of the cattle held in Kotka. During that time she met her future husband August Tuomisalo who had rented a loft of the Hovinsaari tenement with one Antti Heikkarainen. The couple was wedded on the 9th of May 1914 and their son, Eino August Tuomisalo, was born a year later on 17th of June 1915.
Sadly, Elin Tuomisalo died of inner bleeding (caused probably by the childbirth) just a year later on 14th of June 1916 and she was burried to Elimäen hautausmaa, Elimäki, Kymenlaakso, Finland. Therefore her only son Eino August never got to know his mother.
It is said that Anna Elin Tuomisalo was a kind person who loved crafts and to tend garden. She was also very musical and played harmonium well.
