Jack Middleton Boone, 75, of Upper Sleith, Braxton County, died March 9, 2014, at Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Oakland, Md.

He was born Aug. 16, 1938, a son of the late Robert Warren and Vera Ethel Mick Boone.

Jack was a former municipal judge for Gassaway, Burnsville and Clendenin. He was the owner of the Elk and Little Kanawha News. He was a history buff and loved antiques. He was a member of the Frametown Volunteer Fire Department and an Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Hunter Ford Boone, Robert Randolph Boone, Captain Lowell Boone and Daril Crislip.

He is survived by sister, Peggy June Miller of Upper Sleith; sisters-in-law, Doris Boone of Harrisville and Sally Crislip of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with the Rev. Jimmie Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Boone Family Cemetery, Upper Sleith.

Friends may call three hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
