Beloved husband of 61 years of Ellen Andersen; he was father of daughters Patricia Bailey and Debra Reynolds and of son Carl Andersen II. His sister, Ruth Sparks, lived in San Antonio, Texas; he had eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He served proudly under General Patton in WWII from 1940-44, in the U.S. Army Tank Corps. He earned a broker's license and a designation of A.S.A. from the American Society of Appraisers.
He was honored as a longtime member of the El Cajon Elks Lodge No. 1812, Rotary International, AMVETS of El Cajon Post No. 17, the Disabled American Veterans organization, and the American Legion Post No. 303. He was active with the El Cajon Sister Cities, and early supporters of the Boys Club of El Cajon.
He was remembered as a loving husband, successful community businessman, world traveler, and steadfast American patriot.
