Ella Frances Coles Mosley, 87, of Bedford, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on August 20, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Elizabeth Blake Coles; her husband, Thomas Mosley; sons, Roy and Bobby Mosley; sisters, Susie Johnson and Rosa Chapman; brothers, Percell, Preston, Theodore and Edward Coles. She worked in the Bedford Co. School system and retired after many years of service. She was very active in her church, serving as the Mother of the Church. In addition, she was the Church Clerk for many years; served on the Deaconess Board, Sr. Choir, Missionary Circle and the Pastor's Aide Club. She was a past President and current Advisor of the Women's Auxiliary of the Peaks of Otter Baptist Association where she was very dedicated in working for the Virginia Baptist Children's Home. She is survived by a son, David Mosley of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, June Mosley of Bedford, Va.; four grandchildren, Chanda Mosley, Tamara (Julian) Robinson, Amanda Mosley, and Bobby Ray Mosley, Jr.; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Bannat (Mary) Coles of Bedford, Va.; two daughters-in-law, Jacqueline Mosley of Roanoke, Va. and Ellen Mosley of Lynchburg, Va.; two brothers-in-law, Maryland (Ethel) Mosley of Chesapeake, Va., Samuel (Bert) Mosley of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2009 at Antioch Baptist Church (Peaksville). Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today, August 23, 2009 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Bedford Funeral Home. Friends may call the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday August 23, 2009.
