From Eureka Times Standard, Tuesday 19 April 1994: Gary Richard Taggart died April 16, 1994 in Eureka, age 37.
Gary was a member of the Yurok Tribe. he was a veteran of the U.S. Army (Airborn). He was a graduate of College of the Redwoods Police Academy, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and his work as a ceramic artist. He will be remembered for his quick wit and gentleness.
He is survived by his friend, Mary Helen Brown; two daughters, Sarah Ann and Mindy Lyn; a son, Jonathan; his mother, Bette Owen; his father, Richard Taggart; a grandmother, Lottie Chase; four aunts, Mona Gaches, Shirley Meyers, Bette Owen and Ora Trombetti; three uncles, Wes Gaches, Dwayne Meyers and Buster Owen; three brothers, David Severns, Eddie Severns and Greg Taggart; two sisters, Jeannie Rice and Lorraine Taggart; and a large family of cousins, nephews and a niece.
Friends are invited to attend funeral services at Chapel of the Ferns-Cooper Mortuary in Eureka today, Aprpil 19, 1994 at 2 p.m.
Private interment will be at the Blakes'family cemetery in Terwer Valley, Klamath.
