Elizabeth Newey was born Apr. 22, 1814 and christened Sep. 5th in Birmingham, England, daughter of William and Mary Newey. On Apr. 11, 1831, she married Benjamin Ashby in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. Between 1834 and 1855 they had eight children: Thomas Newey Ashby, Benjamin, John, Dinah, Arthur, Charles, Felicia, and George Ashby. In 1881 and 1891 they continued living in Birmingham. In Jan. 1882, Elizabeth died. Benjamin died in Dec. 1892.
