Harold Trusty, 80, of Lemont, Ill. went to be with the Lord at 10:39 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill.. He was born May 7, 1932, in Breathitt County, Ky., to Estile and Elizabeth (Wireman) Trusty.
Harold served in the Army and was involved with the Korean War. He was attended the First Baptist Church of Young America and was a member of the Church of Christ in South Holland, Ill. Harold also was a Master Mason. He loved to read books, watch Westerns and hunting. He was a beloved father, grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Jane (Charlie) Trusty Holt, Lemont, Ill.; a son, Harold Dane Trusty, Hodgkns, Ill.; a sister, Ethel (Paul) Stine, Kokomo, and Ima Jean (George) V. Shelton, Burlington; a brother, Ed Trusty, Woodstock, Ga.; two grandsons, Paxton Holt and Steve Novakovich; a sister-in-law, Becky Trusty, Kokomo; and the mother of the children, Mary Kathleen Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Estile and Elizabeth; and brothers, Arthur, Levi, Glen, Elliott and Carl Trusty.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with the Rev. Marty Purcel officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. following the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rensselaer, with military rites.
