Ingeborg Elisa Andersen was born in Sweden September 22, 1842. She came to the United States when she was 40 years old in 1882.
The 1895 census for Lee Township shows she is living in the home of Peter Cole with Peter, Benedikte, Helmer, Selma and Jacobie, and the hired men, Peter Hviding and Gabriel Line. She continued living with the Cole family for the rest of her life in America. She worked as a domestic/servant in their home.
She passed away 25 Jan 1911. Her causes of death included chronic bronchitis, emphysema and pneumonia. Funeral services for Ingeborg were held at the Bethania Lutheran Church on January 28, 1911.
NOTE: The gravestone states the Ingeborg was born in 1844. In all instances of US and MN Census documents that were checked, Ingeborg's age and year of birth were consistent with her being born in 1842. The 1900 census states she was born in Sep 1842. Half of the documents stated that she was born in Norway and half of them stated she was born in Sweden. The Norman County Recorder's Office records show she was born in Sweden.
