John was born in the town of Carnuel on July 12, 1923.
John García served in the Philippines with the United States Navy during World Wa II and had a long distinguished career with Sandia National Labs before he retired from federal service in 1970.
John was known for his strength and commitment to his faith and his love and devotion to his family. John loved his coffee, enjoyed the daily newspaper and listening to his Spanish music.
John is survived by one son, Leslie García, three daughters, Judy Griego and her husband, David, Emerald Rivera and her husband and Adrian, Norene García and her husband, Theodore, six grandchildren, Delia Aragón, Bernadette García, Esperanza García, Javier Peña, Elisa García and Mariah Griego and three great-grandchildren, Marisa Aragón, Dominic Aragón and Estrella García.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Eligia García, his wife, Delia Brionez-García and two daughters, Bernadette and Renetta García, son, Johnny García Jr. and step-son, Richard Brionez.
Rosary will be recited on April 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at García Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 10, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church in Carnuel. Interment to follow at Canon del Carnuel Cemetery.
