Died at the home of daughter, Marie B (Blanche) Bergman Littlepage in Ramona Ca.
Family lore has it as: At the age of 21, she sailed for San Francisco, CA, going around The Horn in a sailing vessel that caught fire en route. Damage was not extensive and the ship continued to it's destination, however, it took almost a year. Soon after her arrival it is thought that she stayed with her siblings in Fort Independence Ca. later going to Los Angeles where there met and married Jacob Bergman (while he was serving in the Army). When he left the Army, they went to Yuma, AZ, where, from there he carried the mails by mule pack to Los Angeles for several years. Later their home was established in Aguanga (then known as Bergman), CA. Daughter of Wilhelm Scherer and sister to Heinrich, Pinchon and Carl.
