Helen Sorrells Silvea, 87, of Lexington died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at The Mayflower.
Born March 15, 1925, in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Freeman Rupert Sorrells and Lula Fix Sorrells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Silvea.
Mrs. Silvea was a member of the Ebenezer A.R. Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are one brother, Melvin Sorrells of Lexington; and two sisters, Shelvie May of Stephens City and Lillian Knick of Glasgow.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Harrison Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jim Giles. Burial will follow at the Ebenezer A.R. Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
