DAISY SULLINS AVERY, 84, went to be with The Lord on August 8, 2011. Daisy was born on January 26, 1927, in Marion County, where she lived her whole life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Avery, parents - Sarah and Ben Sullins, brother - Ben Sullins and sisters - Gertha Holland, Bessie Wright, Alma Carlton, and Ruby Williams. Daisy is survived by her beloved sister - Mary Lois Mays, Sheffield and a host of nieces and nephews and loving friends.

Daisy enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables to share with family, neighbors and friends. She loved to share her home cooking, especially at gatherings and with nursing home residents. Daisy was a gentle spirit who loved going to church, singing gospel songs and meeting new friends. She was a member of Hamilton Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Munsingwear. Daisy had been a resident of Marion Regional Nursing Home since 1997 as a result of an automobile accident. Daisy's sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew her and her many acts of kindness will never be forgotten. Special thanks to her nieces, Ethelene Carter and Joyce Roberts and the caring staff of Marion Regional Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. from the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Love Joy Cemetery.
Hamilton Funeral Home directed the services.
