GRACE YUKEL
Mrs. Grace Anna Yuke (Dr. Frank) passed away at the Oak Terrace Nursing Home, Minnetonka, August 28, 1970, at the age of 75 years. She had been a patient at the nursing home since 1965.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 1, at the Presbyterian church in Silver Lake, with Pastor Wesley Harker officiating. The Maresh Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements. Miss Patricia Smoley was organist.
Interment was at the Presbyterian cemetery, with Henry and Alfred Nuwash, Delbert Merrill, Elwyn Yukel, Albin Trutna and Raleigh Yukel serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Frank Yukel, nee Grace Anna Danek, was born in the village of Silver Lake on November 27, 1894, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Nuwash) Danek. She attended grade school in Silver Lake and graduated from the Glencoe High school. She continued her education for teaching at Winona State Teachers college, and taught rural schools in McLeod county for a number of years, until her marriage.
On September 21, 1921, she was united in marriage to Dr. Frank E. Yukel, the ceremony being held in Chicago, Ill., and conducted by the Rev. Krenek. Following their marriage, the couple resided at Mankato, where Dr. Yukel practiced dentistry.
Mrs. Yukel was very active in her church, the Presbyterian church, at Mankato. The couple was blessed with two children, a daughter dying in infancy, and a daughter, Eunice, Mrs. MacLeod, of St. Paul, and grandchildren John and Laurie.
She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lavina Krejci of Silver Lake and Mayme, Mrs. Alfred Rucker, of Oronoco, Minn. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Albin, of Seattle, Wash., and a sister, Alice, Mrs. W. O. Merrill, of Silver Lake.
