Mr. Freddie Howard, age 50, died on Monday, November 17, 2003, in Decatur, Ga., after a short illness. He was a native of Bulloch County and a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church and later joined and ordained as a deacon at Welcome Grove Baptist Church in Atlanta. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from NAPA Corporation as a truck driver after 22 years of service. He was a security guard for Fairco Trucking Company in Atlanta.
He is survived by three daughters, Jania Howard and Victoria Cross, both of Statesboro, and Simeka Everett of Brooklet; one son, Javaris Dukes of Statesboro; mother, Leonia Howard of Statesboro; a special friend, Maxie Mae Wilkerson of Statesboro; two step-daughters, Loretta Wilkerson of Statesboro and Tesandra Wilkerson of Atlanta; three stepsons, Derick Brinson, Eric Brinson and Larry Brinson, all of Atlanta; six sisters, Mamie Lee McNeil of Sylvania, Delores Howard of Statesboro, Jessie Mae Lemons of Brooklet, Adella Howard of Atlanta, Diane Clark of Virginia and Patricia Joyce of Boston, Mass.; four brothers, Hinson Howard of Jacksonville, Fla., Joe Howard of Naples, Fla., Johnny Howard of Memphis, Tenn., and Ronnie Howard of Atlanta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Little Bethel Baptist Church in Brooklet with Rev. Craig R. Tremble and Rev. Alex Grant officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Craig R. Tremble & Sons Funeral Home.
