Funeral serviced were held Monday afternoon for Fred Schenck, descendant of one of El Dorado County's truly pioneer families, who died on the family ranch in the French Creek district where he was born December 7th, 1861.
Mr. Schenck, son of Charles and Therese Schenck who settled the ranch upon which the family has lived for nearly 100 years.
Services under the auspices of the Memory Chapel, were followed with interment in the beautiful family plot on the ranch in which his mother and father also are buried.
The Rev. Dr. Arch W. Sidders officiated.
Surviving are nieces Mrs. Therese Schenck Vennewitz of Placerville, Mrs Edna Murphy Grosse of Santa Rosa, Mrs. Hattie Murphy Wise of Galt and a nephew, Chester Murphy of Farmington."
