Dorothy Genevie Shaffer Barnette McHenry, 64, of Little Birch died Aug. 31, 1994, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Sutton, after a long illness. She was born in Kanawha County. She was a homemaker and a member of Flatwoods Apostolic Church. Surviving: husband, David B.; sons, David A. McHenry, Loyal Grover and Gary L. Barnette, all of Little Birch, Larry L. Barnette of Lewisburg; daughters, Lola Fannin of Flatwoods, Ky., Beulah Pullin of Flatwoods, W.Va., Mable Kinder of East Bank, Iva Canfield of Charleston; brothers, Alfred Shaffer of Flatwoods, W.Va., Emory Shaffer of Charleston, Loyd Shaffer of Lewisburg; sisters, Elsie Coffman of Sutton, Ruby Mullins of Clendenin, Violet Brown of Blount, Beulah Jenkins of Danville; 15 grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Flatwoods (W.Va.) Apostolic Church with the Rev. Patrick Joe Mason officiating. Burial will be in Barnette Cemetery, Bug Ridge, near Sutton. Friends may call four hours prior to service at the church. Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, is in charge of arrangements.
