Laura was educated at Western Union School in Waxhaw, NC and Rowan Cabarrus Community College in which she was certified by the State of North Carolina in Early Childhood Education. She worked for First Assembly Child Care Center for twenty years in the infant department and she loved all of her babies dearly. She joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age. She had several passions that she loved to do. A few of those passions included: making sure she was on the fishing banks fishing all day with family and friends, baking cakes; especially the Sun-Drop Pound Cake and making homemade lemonade. Most of all she loved all people. Laura never met a stranger and if you needed something she made a way out of no way to see that she could meet the needs for those she loved. She was such a loving and caring person. She served on several different committees which included: President of the Deaconess Board, Vice President of the Missionary Department, Treasurer of the Lanes Creek Women Auxiliary, lead singer of the Adult and Mass Choir. Most recently she served as President of the Usher Board and the Kitchen Committee.
