Amelina Byrd Wright, A native of Erwinville, she died at 11:15 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was 81.
Religious service at New Sunrise Baptist Church, Port Allen, conducted by Dr. Phillip Joseph. Interment in Christ Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Alveria and Rogers Decuir, Erwinville, and Denise and Ramsey Louis, McDonough, Ga.; seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Booker Jr. and Cheryl Wright, Nathan and Connie Wright, Wilbert and Lisa Wright, Wallace and Gladys Antione Wright, all of Erwinville, Ernest Wright of Barland, Texas, David and Willie Wright of Jonesboro, Ga., and Willard and Debra Louis Wright of New Roads; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, Booker T. Wright Sr.; son, Freddie Wright; and three daughters, Allegra Warren, Hilda Mae Wright and Jacquelyn "Cookie" Byrd.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth James Wright, Freddie T.A. Wright, Broderick Brown, Booker T. Wright III, Dwight Moore, Felix Hill and Joseph Ramsey Louis.
