Mrs. May Cushman, age 82, died Thurday morning at her home in Lake Hattie township after an illness of six weeks. Funeral services were held in the Lake Hattie hall. Pallbearers, sons of the deceased were: Roy, Floyd, Heggie, Harold Millis, Lyle Allen, Merlin Luschin, and Ralph Redfield. Burial was in the Becida cemetery.

May Redfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Redfield, was born at Burnett Station, Wis., and was united in marriage to Alson Allen July 26, 1873. They moved to Minnesota and settled in Big Stone county as one fo the pioneer settlers. Six children came of this union, two daughters, ages five and three, died of diphtheria. Twenty-three years ago, the family moved to northern Minnesota and took up a homestead in Lake Hattie township.

After Mr. Allen's death Dec 23, 1907, she went back to Correll, Minn., and took up her home with her father and brother, Ned. In 1916, she was united in marriage to Noah Cushman, moving to Montevideo for a few years until death claimed her second husband July 27, 1923. She then moved to northern Minnesota where she lived until her death.

She leaves to mourn her departure: Mrs. Elsie Heggie of Bemidji, Glen Allen, Mrs. H. Millis and Mrs. John Luschen, all of Lake Hattie township.
