OBITUARY :
MAXINE ELIZABETH HALTERMAN, 84, of Broadway, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Halterman was born Oct. 16, 1923, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Edgar and Zella Norman Strickler. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Run Church of the Brethren near Broadway. Her first husband, Berlin B. Biller, preceded her in death in July 1955. Her second husband, Charles Marvin Halterman, whom she married March 6, 1964, died May 14, 2003.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Turner of New Market; a son, Marvin L. Halterman of Broadway; three stepsons, Charles T., Douglas A., and Ronald L. Halterman, all of Broadway; three brothers, Donald and Gary Strickler, both of Broadway, and James Strickler of Timberville; 11 grandchildren, a number of step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of step-great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Richard Yowell will conduct a memorial service noon, Friday at Cedar Run Church of the Brethren. Burial in the Biller family cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
