Mrs. Bertha Burnett Burlingame, age 92 of Sulligent formerly of Irondale, AL passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at the residence. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 25, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Lamar Memory Gardens in Vernon. Officiating ministers will be Bro. Randy Wright and Sister Carol Lambert. Visitation will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until service time at 3:00 P.M.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Freddie Burnett, Danny "Pete" Hollis, Anthony Burnett, Joseph Burnett, Howard Franks and Lincoln Egger.
Mrs. Burlingame was born on October 17, 1916 to the late Jasper Franklin and Lillie Virginia "Virgie" Black Taylor. She was married to the late Frank Burnett and the late Ralph Burlingame. She was a member of the Providence Methodist Church and had previously been a member of the McCoy Methodist Church in Birmingham where she was an active participant of the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Burlingame was also member of the Buds and Blossoms Garden Club. She enjoyed shopping and traveling and was an excellent needleworker.
