George II was the son of George Sr born in 1675. His mother's name is unknown. He was born in Town Bank, which was a whaling colony. He married Mary Stratton in 1739 and had at least 2 sons; Jermiah and Elias and daughters;
Sarah, Rhonda, and Naome. They lived in Fishing Creek. On 25 Nov 1748 George went hunting. He shot a deer but it got away. The next day he and a friend went to look for it and George was accidently shot. He made his on 30 Nov 1748 while very sick. It was mentioned in his will that his wife was expecting. In 1749 she had twins, Lois and George Hand III. The original village and cemetery where these early settlers were buried has been lost to the erosion of the sea.
