Sarah was the daughter of George L. Rogers and Sarah Dixie Williams.
She maried Abraham Frank Ackerman on July 25, 1866 in Lynchburg County, Virginia; he was 31 and she was 24.
Sarah and Abraham later lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, (where their son, James Mead, was born); Athens, Texas; and Hill County, Texas.
Abraham and Sarah had two children:
